There's no single flat rate, because two moves are rarely the same. The main things that shape a piano removal price are:
- The type of piano: an upright is quicker than a grand that needs partly dismantling
- Access at both ends: steps, stairs, tight halls, lifts and parking make the biggest difference
- Distance: a move within Leeds versus one across Yorkshire or beyond

Those starting figures are for the easy case: a standard upright, ground floor with no steps or stairs, a short local move, and before the optional extra liability cover you can add for higher-value instruments. Steps and stairs, longer distances, grands and baby grands, and added cover all change the figure, which is why we quote each job properly rather than guess.
What a move typically costs in Leeds

A worked example
To show how the factors stack up: say you're moving a standard upright from a terraced house in Headingley to a semi in Horsforth. Level access at the pick-up, but three steps up to the front door at the other end, and a move of around five miles. That's close to our starting price, with a small addition for the steps and the short distance: the kind of everyday Leeds move that lands comfortably in the lower part of the range. Swap the upright for a baby grand, add a first-floor flat with no lift, or stretch the distance across to York, and the figure climbs from there. None of it is guesswork on the day; it's all agreed in the quote first.
